Rachel Marie Wintersmith, nee Thurman, age 35, of O'Fallon, born March 7, 1983 in St. Louis, Mo., died October 8, 2018, at her home in O'Fallon, Ill.

Rachel grew up in Belleville, attended Whiteside Schools and graduated from Belleville Township HS West. She was a talented singer and was very creative and intelligent, and studied Graphic Arts and Business in college. Rachel was a happy and congenial child and grew into a kind and caring mother.

She was preceded in death by her father Rev. Ed Thurman.

Surviving are her husband of 6 years Ronald F. Wintersmith of Atlanta, Ga., her beloved daughter Olivia; her mother Mary Thurman of Belleville; her sisters Phoebe (Lizzie Hall) Thurman of Baltimore, Leah Flores of Indianapolis; aunts Lindy (Ron) Sutton of Alton, Ill., Cindy Geluso of St. Charles, Mo., Gertie Thurman of Florissant, Mo., Annie Thurman of Swansea, Ill., Kathy Theobald of Fairfield, Calif.; uncle David (Galina) Flint of Seattle; parents-in-law James and Mildred Wintersmith of Atlanta, Ga.; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with this untimely loss.

Memorial Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Faith Family Church, 704 N. Green Mount Rd., Shiloh, Ill., with Pastor Rick Hufton officiating.
