Ramah Kathryn Greene Batchelder, age 101, born September 23, 1920, in Cainsville, Mo., passed away July 4, 2022, at her home at the Colonnade in O'Fallon, Ill.

Ramah grew up in O'Fallon, the youngest of six children of DeWitt and Edna, nee McClaskey, Greene. At the age of eight, Ramah was the first Princess in the O'Fallon Prince & Princess contest. In 1937 she graduated from O'Fallon Township High School and then attended Blackburn College in Carlinville. After moving to Chicago for work, she met her future husband, Tilden Batchelder, a US Army serviceman, and they married April 17, 1943. Ramah had worked as a purchasing agent for Condell Hospital in Libertyville. After retirement and the subsequent loss of her husband, Ramah returned home to her O'Fallon roots in 1997. She was an active member at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Belleville, where she volunteered with the music program. She was also a volunteer at Memorial Hospital and the O'Fallon Public Library. Ramah enjoyed knitting, working jigsaw puzzles, and was an avid reader.

She was preceded in death by her husband Tilden in 1994; her parents; her five siblings Harry Greene, Thora Quinn, Vivian Heitman, Ralph Greene, and Ruth Warma; her sons-in-law Jerry Huller and Bill Beim, and daughter-in-law Pam Tarpy.

Surviving are her four children Kathy (Gordon) Hardisty of Shiloh, Geoffrey Batchelder of Colorado Springs, Colo., Susan (Brent Rubin) Batchelder of O'Fallon, and Julie (Dave Truitt) Batchelder of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren Gregory Huller, Matthew Huller, Tim Huller, Jason Sanford, and Samantha Gray; ten great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; five nephews, one niece, and many other extended family members.

Memorial donations are suggested to St. Matthew UMC Music Program or to the O'Fallon Public Library and may be mailed to the funeral home.
