IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raymond Anthony
Gonzales
May 30, 1952 – July 9, 2024
On July 9, 2024, Raymond Anthony Gonzales passed away peacefully at home in O'Fallon, Illinois after a short battle with lung cancer. Ray was born May 30, 1952 in Colorado, where he spent his youth before enlisting in the Air Force in 1972. Ray then dedicated his entire life to service including almost 14 years in active duty as a Firefighter and Command Post Control Specialist and over 30 years in civil service as "Mr. G," store leadership for several military Commissaries in the US and abroad.
When Ray retired to O'Fallon in 2018 he purchased a beautiful home where he enjoyed sitting on the deck, hosting bbq's and watching his grandchildren play outside and swim in the pool. He also loved taking camping trips, traveling and sightseeing across the U.S. Ray spent his last 2 months at this home being cared for by his wife of 43 years, Adriana, their daughters Pamela and Michelle, and his grandsons Tyler, Roman and Kanan.
Ray was reminded daily of his full and impactful life through the support, visits and messages he received from close family like Nell and Kevin Krieger, his daughter Andrea, brother Richard, extended family, friends, former employees and more.
Ray was loved and will always be known as dad, grandpa, brother, best friend, supporter, father-figure, friend and mentor.
