Richard "Dick" Wayne Gregg, age 75, of Belleville, Ill., born October 16, 1945 in Louisville, Ky. to Theodore Alphonsus Gregg and Nell G, nee Gross, Gregg, died March 24, 2021 in Belleville after a long illness due to COVID-19.
Dick grew up in Louisville, attended grade school at St. Stephen Martyr, St Xavier High School, University of Louisville (Speed School) and graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Immediately after graduation, Dick enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam 1968-1970. After returning home, he immediately took a position with the Illinois State Department of Transportation where he spent his career designing roads and bridges. He much enjoyed traveling, camping and sports, and visiting his far-flung family.
He was a Life Member of the VFW and was Commander of the Swansea Post 5165, Swansea Ill., and attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Shiloh.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest brother, Douglas Gregg.
He is survived by his brother Robert (Eleanor Fraas) Gregg; his sister, Patricia Gregg (George) Manning; and his sister-in-law Joy Allison (Douglas) Gregg; niece Allison Gregg Hoffman and nephews, Jason Gregg, Peter Manning and Kerry Manning.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Monday, May 3, 2021, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Shiloh, with Msgr. Jim Margason officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass. A family funeral will be held later near Louisville, Ky.
