Richard Donald Stokes, age 64, of O'Fallon, born June 6, 1958 in St. Louis, passed away October 18, 2022 at home, surrounded by his family.

Rick grew up in Doniphan, Mo., the youngest of nine children of Arlet and Ella Stokes. He spent his summers in O'Fallon visiting family and moved here in the mid-80's. While employed at St. Clair Square, he met his future wife, Robin Grotsky, whom he married in 1987. Rick worked for GardaWorld as an armored car carrier for nearly 30 years. He was an avid Cardinals' fan and enjoyed fishing and western movies. Rick was a good and humble man who always had a smile on his face. Although a man of few words, when he spoke, his words were important and powerful.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Louise (Lee) Roustio, Carol Stokes, and Arvella (Terry) Gendron; brother-in-law Bob McCollum.

Surviving are his wife Robin; daughter Jamie Stokes, son Richard (Rosa) Stokes, Jr.; grandkids Angel, Ricky, Giovanni, Daniel; siblings James (Rita) Harper, Sandy McCollum, Jerry (Joann) Stokes, Yvonne "Bonnie" (Bob) Wagner, Dwight "Ikey" (Mary) Stokes; sister-in-law Pauline Stokes; and many nieces and nephews.
