Robert "Bob" J. Gribler, age 86, of O'Fallon, passed away Sunday morning, July 24, 2005 at Scott AFB Hospital, Illinois.
Mr. Gribler was born November 29, 1918 in O'Fallon to Elmer and Priscilla (nee Quinn) Gribler. He worked for O'Fallon Eagle Range as a machinist until his retirement in 1980. He was a US Navy World War II Veteran, serving from 1942 – 1945 aboard the USS Washington. He married Pearl Brede in 1941; she preceded him in death. On August 6, 1982, he married Ione (nee Ardison) Mannz.
He is survived by his wife, Ione; two step children, Ronald (Sandra) Mannz of Redwood Falls, Minnesota and Pat (Richard) Goheen of Benton, Arkansas; nephew Kirk (Sara) Gribler and children, Riley and Alaina, of Quincy; five step grandchildren, Christopher, Angela, Andrea, Michael, and Jake; eight step great grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Marjorie Ann Gribler, a grandson Michael; brothers Ellsworth and William.
Visitation: 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W Washington @ Lincoln.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating.
Interment with military honors: O'Fallon City Cemetery.
