Bob was married to his high school sweetheart, Bette Rae, for over 64 years. He grew up on a farm in Iowa, and worked as a farmer before moving to Illinois. He then worked with Bunge agricultural business and retired after 33 years.
Bob's commitment to Christ and Christian service allowed him to serve in various leadership roles at churches for over 62 years. Faith in God and devotion to family were always at the forefront of everything Bob did. Cultivating a Godly heritage was very important to him.
Bob will continue to be our Model, Mentor, and Master Tinker. He was a wall of trust and security, and always the source of encouragement. Dad was a patient listener, always available for fun, and enjoyed making memories with his family.
God made fathers as the inspirational pillars of our lives. Bob will continue to be the foundation stone, who led us by example in building character values and qualities which we cherish and live to share. He pointed the way for each of us to seek and accept Christ in a personal relationship as our Savior. This gives us the hope and faith that our family chain will be re-linked one day again in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to his family. In the absence of a public gathering, please sign the online guest book and view the video tribute at www.wfh-ofallon.com .
