Obituary

Ronald Andrew Akridge, age 66, of O'Fallon, Ill., formerly of Cahokia, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2008. He was born to Andrew and Eva (nee Sidley) Akridge in St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Akridge served in the US Army and later worked as a certified painter and a laborer for various commercial companies and residential homes. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. 504. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and his family and friends considered him to be a jack-of-all-trades.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.

He is survived by his sons Ronald Hendrix of O'Fallon and Raymond Hendrix of Cedar Hills, Mo.; daughters Michelle (Chris) Verbeke of O'Fallon, Kristina (K.C.) Hedtkamp of Waterloo, Ill., and Chelena DeWitt of Ullin, Ill. and seven grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the family.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2008 with Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m., and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home with Pastor Marilyn Cottonaro officiating.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
