MSgt Roy Green, USAF, Retired, age 81, of O'Fallon, Ill., formerly of Spartanburg, S.C., and born in Trion, Ga., passed away peacefully with his beloved family at his side on December 1, 2023 following a long, hard-fought battle against acute myeloid leukemia.
Roy was a former member of the Park Hills Church of God in Spartanburg, S.C., N/K/A Lifespring Church of Boiling Springs, S.C. where he once served as a deacon and was on the church board. He was an amazing man with a huge heart, full of integrity, kind, caring, generous, noble and brave. He will be remembered and missed by many whose lives he touched.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents Roy Fay and Mattie Lucille Conway Greene, two brothers George (Roxie) and Hilton (Jane) Green, niece Gail Denney, his mother and father-in-law M.E. and Myrtle Barnette Young and a grandson Nathaniel Green.
Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Patricia Ann Young Green of O'Fallon, Ill., formerly of Spartanburg, S.C., two children, a son, Ret. MSGT Randy (Michele) Green of Crestview, Fla., a daughter, Rhonda Green (Kenny) Bouas of O'Fallon, Ill., and sister Foye Lee Green (Jim) Denney of Pikeville, Tenn., and former sister-in-law Theola (George) Green. Grandchildren are Brittany Green (MSGT Jonathan) Brown of Fort Belvoir, Va.; Alex Green of Crestview, Fla.; Crystal Green (Kenny) Hayslette of Crestview, Fla.; Jacob Roy Green of Crestview, Fla.; Bryan Bouas of O'Fallon, Ill.; Kaylee Bouas (Nicholas) Van Osdale of Shiloh, Ill. Great-grandchildren are Kyler, Nathaniel, and Brent Brown; Lincoln and Peyton Green; Brody and Hudson Hayslette; Adalynn Van Osdale. Nieces and nephews are Terry Denney, Steven (Trish) Denney, Rachel Green Forrest (Michael), Benjamin Green, Ales Green, Walter Green and several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon. Funeral service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Procession will depart the funeral home at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, December 7, 2023 for a Graveside Service with military honors to begin at 10:30 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St Louis, Mo.
