Ruth Ann Carson, nee Yaeger, age 78, lifelong resident of O'Fallon, born January 25, 1937, the youngest of seven children, passed away Monday morning, December 14, 2015 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Ruth grew up in O'Fallon and lived here her whole life. She loved her children and adored her grandchildren, always supporting them and enjoying their presence. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and enjoyed participating in Yesterday's Kids. She was also a member of Senior Citizens Club of O'Fallon, the Women's International Bowling Congress and the Jolly Time Card Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Warren Carson, Sr., whom she married February 6, 1954, and who passed away March 2, 2000; her parents John and Annie, nee Seipp, Yaeger; and siblings Henry, John, Joseph, and James Yaeger, and Helen Myers.
Surviving are her children Stephen Michael (Debi) Carson, Paul Warren Carson, Jr., David Lee (Dianne) Carson, and Carol Jean (John) Wielgus; her sister Margaret Smith of Fairview Heights, grandchildren Michael (Jamie) Carson, Josh (Leann) Carson, John Carson, Kayla Carson, Hunter Carson, Alexa Carson, David (Andrea) Carson, Jr., Brandy (Jeff) Parmeley, Chad Wischmeyer, Meghan (John) Harrison, Wesley Wielgus, and Catherine Wielgus; great-grandchildren Carson Wiley, Luke Carson, Cheyenne Carson, Logan and Bryce Carson, Addison Parmeley, Chad and Madison Wischmeyer, and Savannah and Hunter Harrison, and her special niece and card-playing buddy Sharon (Ralph) Warnecke, and her beloved cat Tom.
Memorial donations are suggested to St. Nicholas Church Building Fund, St. Nicholas Yesterday's Kids, or to Spencer Pet Rescue.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon. The O'Fallon Senior Citizens will conduct a walk-through at 6:30 pm, Thursday, at the funeral home.
Visitation will also be from 9:00 – 9:45 am, Friday, December 18, 2015 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon. Yesterday's Kids will conduct a walk-through at 9:15 am, Friday, at the church.
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Friday, December 18, 2015 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, with Msgr. William J. Hitpas presiding. Burial will follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon, Illinois.
