Sadie Mae Cobb, nee Scadden, age 80, of O'Fallon, born December 10, 1932 in Weiner, Arkansas, passed peacefully on Friday evening, July 5, 2013, with her daughters by her side.

Sadie attended O'Fallon's Central Grade School, and graduated from O'Fallon Township High School in 1950. After graduation, she worked as a secretary in civil service at Scott AFB and also Connally AFB in Waco, Texas. She married Noble Fletcher Cobb, Jr., on December 12, 1952 at the former O'Fallon E & R Church. Sadie's hobbies included cooking and baking, gardening, reading, and drawing. She sincerely loved her daughters and especially loved her grandchildren. Sadie had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Noble, who passed away December 12, 1974; her mother Dovie, nee Wilhelm, Adam; father Charlie; and her infant brother Charles Emil.

Surviving are her two daughters, Sherri (Philip "Butch") Elliott of Troy, Ill., Elizabeth Cobb of O'Fallon; grandchildren Nathan (Ronnette) Elliott of Decatur, Ill., Daniel (Jennie) Elliott of Troy, Ill., great-grandchildren, Noble, Paisley, Parker, and Cooper Elliott; two brothers James "Bud" of Minerva, Ohio, and Charles "Junie" (Shirley) of Ocoee, Fla.

The family extends thanks to Hospice of Southern Illinois, especially nurse Diane, for her special care; and thanks to Dr. Ahmed Radwan and staff, for all their kindness and support the last several years.

Memorial donations are kindly suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2013 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
