Agatha "Sally" Glogowski, age 97,
of O'Fallon, Illinois, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville, Illinois. She was born July 1, 1909 to Joseph and Katherine (nee Wrozek) Krygowski in Chicago, the third of 13 children. Mrs. Glogowski worked as a book sewer at Brock and Rankin Book Bindery in Chicago. She met Frank Glogowski, an Army veteran in 1929 and they wed the following year. Frank passed away in 1977. In 1983, Sally moved to O'Fallon, to be near her son. Sally was a parishioner at St Nicholas Catholic Church in O'Fallon.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Colonel, USAF, ret.) and his wife, Donna, Glogowski, of O'Fallon; her grandson, Colonel David (USAF) and his wife, Jeanne of Stuttgart, Germany; her granddaughter, Dayna Silva of Ellington, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Daniel, Mariah, Anna, Kristen, and Megan; and two sisters, Lottie Schultz and Vickie Dressel, both of Chicago.
Mrs. Glogowski was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and 8 brothers.
Friends may call 4-8 pm, Friday, Sept. 8 and 9-10 am, Saturday, Sept. 9 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Ill. A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 am Saturday, Sept. 9 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Msgr. William Hitpas presiding.
Graveside Services will be Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, Illinois.
