Sandra Sue Britt, nee Fichter, age 92, born January 26, 1931, passed away peacefully from oral cancer, on November 4, 2023, at Revela at O'Fallon, O'Fallon, Ill.

Sandra was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert "Bob" Britt; her son Robert "Bob" Alan Britt; her parents Charles A. Fichter and Doyne, nee Wirth, Fichter; and her brothers Charles A. Fichter, Richard Fichter, and Michael Fichter.

She is survived by her daughter Anne (Jim) Mansk of Schaumburg, Ill.; her daughter-in-law Denise, nee Rubin, Britt of Greenwood, Ind.; and her grandchildren Kati Britt, Kyle Mansk, and Kara (Matthew) Fenton.

Sandra graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School, and was a resident of O'Fallon, Ill., for 57 years. Her love of children and reading led her to O'Fallon Community Consolidated School District #90 where she worked as a media secretary for 26 years.

One of Sandra's favorite places to be was in her award-winning garden talking to family and friends who stopped by. If you passed by Sandra's back porch, you would always find food, water, and shelter for neighborhood stray animals that, at one time, included three baby raccoons.

Sandra was her family's greatest supporter. Her creativity, storytelling, crafts, and amazing culinary skills made so many memories that we will cherish forever. The family is grateful for her new family of caregivers at Revela at O'Fallon, as well as Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal care organization of your choice.

Funeral arrangements are private. She will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorials Gardens.
