In Loving Memory of Scott Leonard Culton
1962 - 2023
Ride Free, Brother
It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Scott Leonard Culton, (Scotty) (Reno) who rode his final journey in the early morning hours of June 16, 2023. Born in North Hollywood to William and Vicky Culton, Scott was a proud Native American of the Creek tribe, carrying the spirit of his ancestors within him. He also boasted Viking blood, embodying the fierce warrior spirit of those who came before him.
His love of outdoors and fishing started at the age of three. He spent many summers with his grandmother Martha Culton in Oakland, Calif. and cherished those memories. Scott attended Northridge High School until he moved in with his aunt in Reno, Nev. As he grew older, Scott was a man of many talents, a true master of his craft. As a welder, mechanic, and machine operator, his skills were forever sought after. He was a force to be reckoned with, fearlessly navigating the intricate workings of engines and wielding his torch with precision. Scott's legacy as a master "wrencher" will be etched in hallways of mechanic culture.
Scott's rebellious spirit led him on a nomadic journey. Unyielding in his beliefs, Scott clashed with authority, standing up for what he believed in and paying the price for his defiance. Despite the challenges he faced, Scott remained unwavering in his principles, always true to himself, and most importantly, loyal. He was a true outlaw and lived his life on his own terms. He was larger than life with a heart of gold for those he called friends and family.
"Fast bikes and faster women" were among his many interests, capturing the essence of the free-spirited lifestyle he embraced. Scott was never one to back down from an adventure or challenge, cherishing the thrill of the open road and the bond shared with his biker brothers. His love for speed and the wind in his hair was surpassed only by his love for his family and friends. Scott was always there when you needed him. If he couldn't help you he was always willing to make a call to someone who could.
The proudest moments in Scott's life were among the last 2 years, spent bonding with his children and grandchildren. He cherished the love and camaraderie shared within his family, reveling in the joy of watching his legacy carried forward through his children: Corrie Wiegmann (Husband Josh ((Buck)) Wiegmann), Clayton Culton (Wife Tiffany Culton), and Scotti Culton. His spirit will forever be woven into the lives of his five grandchildren: Matthew Culton, Joshua Wiegmann Jr., Emma Culton, Chloe Wiegmann, and Macie Culton. They will carry his strength, his wisdom, and his love for the open road in their hearts, becoming a testament to his enduring legacy.
As we pay homage to our fallen brother, let us remember the freedom he lived for, the roaring engines that echoed his spirit, and the bonds of brotherhood he forged. Though he may no longer ride by our side, Scott's spirit will forever linger in the wind, guiding us on our journey and reminding us to embrace life with the same fearless passion and integrity that defined him. His nonconformist life taught us that rules are made to be broken, and life was meant to be lived. Scott is reunited beyond the veil with his son Matthew Robert Culton, father William Culton, mother Vicky Graham, and grandmother Martha Culton. "Oh, Odin, All-Father, hear our plea. As we return our kin to your embrace, may their journey be safe and swift. May the brave deeds they performed in life echo in your great hall. Thor, protector, let your mighty hammer guard them. Freya, goddess of love and war, receive them with open arms. May they find peace and honor in the realms of the gods."
We will send him off the only way we know how. A party, a erfi, a celebration of his life and journey. We come together to mourn, celebrate the life of Scott, and perform the 'minni,' a toast to the dead. This toast serves as both a commemoration of the departed and a reaffirmation of all his friends and family.
