IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Scott
Federhofer
January 13, 1965 – January 12, 2022
Scott S. Federhofer, age 56, of O'Fallon, Ill., born January 13, 1965 in St. Louis, Mo., passed away January 12, 2022 at Barnes Hospital, following a valiant fight against COVID.
Scott grew up in St. Louis and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School, class of 1983. As a young man, he enlisted in the US Navy and served 4 years on active duty in Naples, Italy, followed by 4 years as a Naval Reservist. He worked various jobs before starting a successful career with Dayton Freight Lines, where he made President's Club for 6 years in a row. In 2018, he followed his longtime passion to start his own residential remodeling business, Homeworx Professionals, based in O'Fallon. He also bought and renovated homes for rentals and flips.
Scott was passionate about his beliefs, selfless, warm-hearted and lived his life with integrity and honesty. He loved the St. Louis Blues, a passion instilled in him and his brothers by his dad when they were young, and he was thrilled to be able to take his dad to watch a playoff game when they finally won the Stanley Cup. Scott simply never met a stranger as he was always genuinely interested to learn about others and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was a dedicated husband and father who was exceedingly proud of his children.
Surviving are his wife Melissa, nee Pastor, Federhofer; children Derek (Courtney Nelson) Federhofer, Jacob (Zoe Box) Cassidy-Federhofer, Katy Cassidy-Federhofer, Amn. Jamie Federhofer, USAF, currently stationed at Corry Sta., Fla., his parents John and Judith, nee Schmitz, Federhofer, III; Derek's mother Cheri Rodriguez; brothers John (Lindsey), Matthew (Carolyn), and Chris; his dogs Bailey and Bear; many much-loved nieces and nephews; and furry family members.
The family respectfully requests no fresh-cut flowers be sent, but instead please consider a more meaningful act of remembrance by donating to a charity that Scott supported. Please consider Randy's Rescue Ranch , Americares , Gary Sinise Foundation or to the family's GoFundMe to offset the medical expenses.
