Sharon Kay Nichols, nee Rodermund, age 54, of Caseyville, Ill., beloved mother, sister, and friend, born April 26, 1956, in Sikeston, Missouri, passed away January 15, 2011 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.

Sharon was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She had worked as a caregiver and nurse's aid throughout the metro east. She was always smiling, always generous with her time and talents and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. She attended Redeemer Community Church in O'Fallon. Her granddaughter, Brianna, will remember the fun times with her "Gamma" watching Spongebob.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Larry Nichols, and her parents Frederick and Dorothy May, nee Tucker, Rodermund.

Sharon is survived by her three children, Adam Nichols of Belleville, Amanda Solis and husband, Ernesto, of Fairview Heights, and Alex Nichols of Caseyville.

Also surviving are her six grandchildren, Kyle Nichols, Kage Nichols, and Korey Nichols, Braydon Whiteside, James McClure, and Brianna Solis; her two sisters Sherry Rodermund and Sheila Rodermund; and her friends at Redeemer Community Church in O'Fallon.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Nichols will be at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, with Rev. Rusty Mosley officiating.
