Sharon A. Orr-Woods, age 77, of O'Fallon, born May 27, 1944 in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Sunday evening, August 1, 2021 after a brief illness, at St Elizabeth's Hospital, O'Fallon, Ill.

Sharon had been a teacher for Homebound Native American students in California, and had taught junior high English in East St. Louis for many years. She also was a school therapist at CCBD in Centerville, and often opened her home to youth in need, including many foster children. She had retired as a paraprofessional from Belleville School District 201. Sharon was caring and thoughtful, and enjoyed her collection of Native American arts and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gary Woods; her sister Barbara Rumps; and her parents Oscar and Martha, nee Hagene, Orr.

Surviving are her daughter Kelly Brown and husband Brian; and their children Kaleb, Kinkade, and Kole; and her brothers Charles (Nazan) and Ronald (Lina) Orr, and special nieces and nephews.
