Sharon Marie Wilmsmeyer, nee Dressel, age 79, of O'Fallon, born August 15, 1936 in O'Fallon, died Thursday afternoon, May 5, 2016 at Memorial East Hospital, Shiloh, Illinois.

Sharon grew up in O'Fallon, attended O'Fallon schools, and was a lifelong member of O'Fallon United Church of Christ, where she was active in the Women's Guild and served on the funeral luncheon committee for many years. She enjoyed her Friday evenings at the O'Fallon VFW fish fry.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Wilmsmeyer who died October 24, 1996; her sons Keith, David, and Gregg; her parents Elton "Cocky" and Naomi, nee Guest, Dressel; and her sister Ferol Deutsch.

Surviving are her children Mark Wilmsmeyer of Belleville, Lynn (Tom) Cullen of O'Fallon, and Chris Wilmsmeyer of Belleville; her grandchildren Jennifer (Jim) Blackburn, Justin Wilmsmeyer, Kayla Cullen, Dayzi Wilmsmeyer, Jacob Wilmsmeyer, and Lilliann Wilmsmeyer; great-grandchildren Felix and Weston Blackburn, and Izabella Wilmsmeyer, and her niece and dear friend Mia Deutsch.

Memorial donations are suggested to O'Fallon United Church of Christ.

Visitation: Friends are welcome from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2016 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 West Washington St., O'Fallon. The Women's Guild will conduct walk-through at 4:30 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at O'Fallon United Church of Christ, 206 W. Adams, O'Fallon, with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
