Shirley Thomas

Shirley Thomas, age 90, passed away on September 9, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of treasured memories and a legacy of love and faith.

Shirley was born on May 6, 1936, in Rockwood, Tennessee, and spent much of her life living in and around the Rockwood area. Tennessee was always an important part of her life and who she was.

Faith was an important part of Shirley’s life. It provided her with strength, comfort, and hope throughout the years. Her family can now find comfort in that same faith and in knowing that she is at peace in the presence of the Lord.

Shirley loved her family dearly and shared a special bond with her daughter, Jill. The love between a mother and daughter is one that endures throughout a lifetime, and the many memories they shared will always hold a special place in Jill’s heart.

Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Doyle; her mother, Margaret; her brothers, Bill and Jerry; and her sister, Carol.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Jill, as well as several nieces and nephews who will remember her with love and affection.

Shirley will be remembered for the life she lived, the faith she carried, her Tennessee roots, and the love she had for her family. Although saying goodbye is never easy, those who loved her can find comfort in the many cherished memories created over a lifetime and in knowing that her love and memory will remain with them always.

May she rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord, reunited with loved ones who went before her, and may those who mourn her find comfort in their faith and in the memories they shared.
