Simon Maurice Rivers, beloved infant son of Shane Michael Rivers and Karen Elizabeth, nee Murray, Rivers, of O'Fallon, Ill., was born Monday morning, August 16, 2010. Although his time on this earth was short, Simon was surrounded by the love of his parents, and they will forever treasure the day they spent with him.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials are welcome in Simon's memory at St. Louis Children's Hospital Foundation. Donations will support the NICU, so they can continue to offer the excellent care they gave Simon to other babies. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Tim and Teri Murray of Lorton, Va., and uncle Brendan Murray & his wife, Ambi Biggs, of Arlington, Va. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wayne "Hawk" and Maureen Rivers.

Funeral: A gathering to celebrate the love and life of Simon Rivers will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 30, 2010, at O'Fallon United Church of Christ, 206 West Adams St., with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating. A luncheon, graciously served by their church family, will follow the services. Burial was private.
