Stanley "Stan" Connolly, of O'Fallon, Ill., formerly of Bath, Ill., passed away on September 5, 2023.  Stan's parents were Joseph and Verla Connolly. He grew up in Bath. After graduating from Balyki High School, he attended Western Illinois University before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in February 1957. His many assignments over his nearly 24-year career included tours in Alaska and Thailand during the Vietnam War. He attained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star for his distinguished service in Thailand. After the Air Force, Stan worked in St. Louis and as a Civil Servant at Scott AFB, Ill. until retiring in 1999.

Stan was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Jerald, Lyle (Sonny), and Joseph (Allen) and sister Marilyn. He is survived by a special son Mark and equally special daughter-in-law Kristina and sister Rosalyn, many nieces and nephews, and special friend Susan Scott.

Per Stan's wishes, he will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, at 10:30 am, Thursday, September 14, 2023. The family will receive guests one hour prior.  Interment with full military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
