Stanley Jerome Kuehn, Sr., age 90, of O'Fallon, born November 3, 1922, in O'Fallon, to Marcel and Mary, nee Meyer, Kuehn, died July 28, 2013.
A 1940 graduate of O'Fallon Township High School, Stan began his work in the newspaper business alongside his father and brother at the O'Fallon Progress. He worked as a printer for Metro-East Journal for many years. He was a World War II veteran of the US Marines, and charter member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. His hobbies were fishing and dancing.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Delores "Doots" Kuehn, whom he married August 1, 1946 at St. Clare Catholic Church in O'Fallon; his daughters Janet (Robert) Smith of Newburgh, Ind., Nancy (John) Suedmeyer, of Fairview Heights, Ill., two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Stanley J. Kuehn, Jr., one brother PFC Russell Kuehn (WW II casualty), and one sister, Kathryn "Babe" Wolfersberger.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Nicholas Catholic Church Building Fund or National Hemophilia Foundation.
Visitation: Friends may call from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 1, 2013 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon.
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 1, 2013 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, with Msgr. William J. Hitpas presiding. Burial with military honors will follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon, Ill.
