Obituary

Lt. Col. Stephen William Wilkin, US Air Force (retired), age 74, of O'Fallon, born April 26, 1941, in Alameda, Calif., passed away December 11, 2015.

Known as "Tiny" by his friends, he had a long and honorable career of service in the United States Air Force. He served in the Vietnam War and retired in 1983 from MAC Headquarters, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. He was a graduate of Armstrong College, Berkeley, Calif. and earned his Master's Degree at Webster College. Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, photography, was a train enthusiast and held the title of Alaska Skeet State Champion in 1979. He had owned and operated S&M's Quik Stop in O'Fallon and was a parishioner at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Marilyn, nee Brewer, Wilkin, whom he married February 19, 1966, and who died May 5, 2011; his parents Harris Chandler and Grace (nee Van Loenen) Wilkin, and his sister-in-law Carolyn Bromley.

Surviving are his daughter Teresa (Joseph) Wilkin-Shell, his son Stephen (Corina) Wilkin, all of O'Fallon; brothers-in-law Richard (Karen) Brewer of Cleveland, Ohio; Raymond Bromley Sr. of Eagle River, Alaska; dear family friend Jane Edgar, nephews Raymond and Keith Bromley, four step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations are suggested to the O'Fallon Community Food Pantry or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic charity.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9:00 – 11:00 am, Thursday, December 17, 2015 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 625 St. Nicholas Dr., O'Fallon.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 17, 2015, at the church, with Msgr. William J. Hitpas presiding. Private interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis County, Mo.
