IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Theda
Kutz
October 26, 1919 – November 6, 2018
Theda Kutz, age 99, of O'Fallon, Ill., entered the glorious presence of the Lord Jesus Christ peacefully at her home surrounded by her two daughters and her granddaughter, Michele, on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
Theda, the oldest of five children, was born October 26, 1919 in the rural mining town of Langdondale, Pa. After graduating from high school she worked as a secretary in Harrisburg, Pa. where she met her husband-to-be Herman. They married in 1941, traveled the globe with the Air Force, and ended up settling in O'Fallon in 1957 when her husband was transferred to Scott AFB. Formerly, she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and an active member of O'Fallon Woman's Club, Inc., serving as President 1988-90. Her determination, hard work, and enthusiasm contributed to a successful career as a District Manager for Avon Products for over 25 years. Her family remembers Theda as a dog-lover who enjoyed hosting festivities and cooking amazing meals for family gatherings! She faithfully supported the Republican Party, voted every election, and was a devoted fan of Rush Limbaugh! Theda truly enjoyed being a grandma and loved her grand babies "a bushel and a peck", encouraging each one to work hard and "do your best."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman A. Kutz, who passed away in 1982; her parents Charles Wesley and Mary, nee Gusto, Kline; her sister Loretta (Les) Gunkel; her brothers Willard (Mary) Kline, Bill (Grace) Kline; and granddaughter MaryBeth Keith.
Surviving are her children Barry (Ruth) Kutz of Atwater, Calif., Kathryn (William) Scott of Rantoul, Ill., and Judi (Gijsbertus) VanderMark of Wildwood, Mo., grandchildren Michele Kutz (her faithful caregiver for 14 years), Denise (Chaz) Schlater, Kristine (Michael) Donovan, Lyndsey Scott, Rachel (Gary Peeples) Scott, Moriah (Taylor) Nageli, Bram VanderMark, and Emrik VanderMark; ten great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren with number ten on the way, and her sister Betty Mitchell of Harrisburg, Pa.
Memorial donations are suggested to O'Fallon Woman's Club, Inc., or Wounded Warrior, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
