Obituary

Valla Dee Parker, age 89, formerly of The Fountains of Shiloh, passed away September 16, 2007 at Cedar Ridge Health Care Center, Lebanon, Ill.

She was born July 10, 1918 to William Talley and Octa Helen (nee Johnson) Nunley in Crawford, Texas. She had previously worked as a telephone operator for Sears Company, and later as a civil servant for the US Navy during WWII. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a daughter Helynne Franklin & her husband Col. Maury Franklin, USAF (retired), of O'Fallon; grandchildren, Kevin (Esther) Franklin of San Antonio, Tex.; Kirk Franklin of Lebanon, Ill.; and Leatitia (Jerry) Patzer of Snohomish, Wash.; and two great granddaughters, Mary Esther Valdez and Ayiana Patzer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maj. Gaines F. Parker, US Army (Retired), on January 29, 2003; her parents, and her sister, Gemma Dryden.

No Local services will be held for Mrs. Parker. Interment of cremated remains will be with her husband in Moody, Texas.
