Vergie Leona Weisbrod, nee Zwiener, age 93, born December 10, 1919 in Belleville, Ill., passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013.

Growing up in the Belleville area, Vergie met Earl at the O'Fallon Homecoming Picnic. At the young age of 16, she married Earl on September 13, 1936. The wedding was celebrated at the former O'Fallon E & R Church, led by the Rev. Klemme. Vergie worked for many years at Miss Elaine's Garment Factory in O'Fallon; she was a talented seamstress and sewed many dresses for her daughters over the years. She had many fond memories of traveling with Earl, especially to Las Vegas and Hawaii.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father Frank Zwiener; her mother Leona, nee Dustin, Boyer; her step-father Charles Boyer, daughters Elcie McCaw and Carole Koesterer, sons-in-law Carter McCaw, Cletus Koesterer, and Clarence Hagene, great-great-grandchildren Aurora Joers and Alex Heidenfelder, and brothers Frank and Donald Zwiener; and great-grandson Shawn Hagene.

Surviving are her children Nancy (Thomas) McCaw of O'Fallon, Patricia Hagene of St. Augustine, Fla., Sandra Wagner of Belleville, and Linda Noltkamper of Belleville. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; and her brother Charles Zwiener.

Memorial Donations in honor of Mrs. Weisbrod are suggested to Shriners' Hospital for Children and Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2013 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
