Virginia Grace Williams, nee Redfield, age 100, of O'Fallon, born July 3, 1913 in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, under the care of Bethalto Care Center, Bethalto, Ill.
Virginia lived in East St. Louis for many years before moving to O'Fallon. She was a 1933 graduate of Summers Business College. She was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in East St. Louis and belonged to the altar sodality and the school's Mothers' Club. Virginia and her husband were beautiful dance partners and enjoyed many good times with their friends and family at the clubhouse in Flora. She was a caring and generous woman, full of compassion and faith.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert O. Williams, Sr., whom she married October 28, 1939, and who died on Feb. 26, 1997; her son, Hubert O. Williams, Jr., her grandson John G. Smith, Jr., her parents John and Dora, nee Phelps, Redfield; two brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are her three children Virginia "Jennie" (Paul) Riley of O'Fallon, Edward A. (Margaret) Williams of Shiloh, and Linda (John) Allen of Bethalto; daughter-in-law Lynn Williams, of Belleville; her grandchildren, Mary (Tony) Lynn, Jim (Heather) Riley, Tom Riley, John (Kristy) Riley, Kathleen (Kevin) Wilson, Melinda (Bryant) Stickels,
Melissa (Matt) Blankenship, Scott (Kelly) Williams, Stacy (Andy Jammo) Williams;
14 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson (plus one on the way.)
Memorial donations are suggested to St. Vincent de Paul or Larry Rice Ministries or in the form of masses.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 29, 2013 at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, Shiloh.
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, at the church, with Rev. James Deiters presiding. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
