Obituary

Willard Charles "Skip" Meinkoth, age 81, of O'Fallon, born August 14, 1933 at the family home in O'Fallon, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 1, 2015, at the ICU at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., surrounded by his family.

Skip grew up in O'Fallon and graduated from O'Fallon Township High School in 1954. He served in the US Navy and retired from Union Electric. He had served on the Shiloh Grade School Board, Grange Nursing Home Board, and Shiloh Cemetery Board. He was a longtime member of Shiloh Valley Grange and the St. Clair Farm Bureau. He enjoyed fishing, tending his vegetable garden, and tinkering in his shop. He was generous with his time, eager to do minor repairs for others and for the Shiloh United Methodist Church, where he attended.

Mr. Meinkoth was preceded in death by his parents Willard F. and Edith, nee Crocker, Meinkoth; and his nephew Tony Logan.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mildred, nee Staub, Meinkoth; his three sons Bradley (Sharon) Meinkoth of Lebanon, Brian (Vicki) Meinkoth of Lebanon, and B. Eric (Jennifer) Meinkoth of Belleville; six grandchildren Sarah Meinkoth, Chelsey (Jeff) White, Justin (Kelly) Meinkoth, Julie, Natalie, and Valerie Meinkoth; his great-grandson Archer Meinkoth; and two sisters Jennie Meinkoth and JoAnn Berry.

Memorial donations are suggested to Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3:00 – 6:45 pm, Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 210 South Main Street, Shiloh.

Funeral: A Service to Celebrate Skip's life will begin at 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the church. Burial will be private at Shiloh Cemetery.
