William Earl Goodwin, age 96, of O'Fallon, Ill., born June 25, 1928 in Springfield, Tenn., one of eight children of Lyman and Margie, nee St. John, Goodwin, passed away October 12, 2024 at home, O'Fallon, Ill.

Bill graduated from O'Fallon Township High School in 1947, and married Barbara Jean Woodhouse on June 4, 1960 in Caseyville, Ill. Mr. Goodwin was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a faithful member of Sterling Baptist Church in Fairview Heights since March 1965.

He retired from National Auto Supply Co. in 1992 after 40 years of employment. He also worked at Central Hardware, Landshire Inc., and O'Reilly Co., and was a member of Teamsters Local 50. Bill enjoyed fishing, and hunting for rabbits and raccoons.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara on February 12, 2023; parents; brothers Danny and Richard Goodwin; sisters Juanita Paust, Dovie Iler, and Carol Rittenhouse; nephews Jimmy and Ronnie Roland.

Surviving are his son Brian Goodwin and wife Donna of O'Fallon; brother Jerry (Cheryl) Goodwin of Collinsville, sister Shirley Nevenner of O'Fallon; and sister-in law Mary Goodwin of Maryville; 21 nieces and nephews; and several grand-nieces and -nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 pm, Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.

Funeral: 11 am, Friday, October 18, 2024 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Ingram officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
