William H. "Bill" Cornelison, age 55, of Belleville, Illinois, born November 3, 1963 in O'Fallon, Illinois, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 in his home.

Bill graduated from O'Fallon Township High School in 1981. He was an avid Cardinals baseball and NASCAR fan, enjoyed playing pool in various leagues, and enjoyed classic rock music. His favorite band was The Eagles. He was a former longtime employee for Empire Comfort Systems and most recently worked at Macy's.

He was preceded in death by his parents William E. Cornelison and Ethel "Dolly," nee Mensing, Cornelison and grandparents William B. and Mary Cornelison, and Henry and Anna Mensing.

He is survived by his wife Mary, nee Holzmeier, Cornelison, who he married July 2, 1987; children William "Michael," Ashley Marie, and Caroline Nichole; grandchildren Rebecca, Anthony, and Shawn Surmeier. Also surviving are sister Judy (Keith) Hudson, brother John W. Cornelison, sister Gloria Ybarra, sister-in-law Karen (Lonnie) Murray, and brother-in-law Jim (Cel) Holzmeier, and nieces and nephews Josh Murry and family, Becky Murry and son Mason, Jim Murray and family, Philip Murray, Paul Murray and family, and Oliver Holzmeier.

Memorial donations are suggested to United Cerebral Palsy, American Cancer Society, or Shriner's Hospital.

Visitation: The family will receive friends 4 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.

Funeral: 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the funeral home with Rev. Christy Eckert officiating. Burial to follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
