Obituary

William Charles Kaiser, age 86, of O'Fallon, born March 28, 1931 in Pittsburgh, Penn., was granted eternal rest Tuesday morning, April 25, 2017 at home, in O'Fallon, Ill.

Bill was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. A custom upholsterer by trade, he was an upholstery instructor at Belleville Area College. He attended St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, was active in Yesterday's Kids and was a charter member of Knights of Columbus Council #4239 . Bill loved children and always passed out dum-dums lollipops to kids. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. Bill loved to be with people; he was very social, friendly, and easy to get to know. He was a man of strong faith and prayed the Rosary daily.

He was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Mary, nee Fitzwilliams, Kaiser; son-in-law Karl Plath, grandson Blake Rowe, brothers Adolph Kaiser, Jr. and Richard Kaiser, sisters Betty Greenwalt, Jean Schuetz, and Barbara Kaiser.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years Rosemary, nee Reckamp, Kaiser, whom he married January 28, 1956 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, in East St. Louis, Ill.; six children William Charles (Mary) Kaiser, Jr., of Glenpool, Okla., Nancy Jean Plath of Belleville, Kathleen Patricia Moore of O'Fallon, Michelle Diane (Doug) Rowe of Springfield, Ill., Kevin Michael (Leah Hammel) Kaiser of New Baden, Ill., Lori Ann (Edward) Eyre of Belleville, Ill.; grandchildren Jacob Kaiser, Jesse Kaiser, Aaron Plath, Charlaine Plath, Colin Moore, Jessica Moore, Darin Rowe, Mindi Rowe, and Maddison Kaiser; great-grandchildren Alexis Sarginson, Beckett and Boston Moore, and Indigo Rowe; sisters Patricia Wiehagen of Florida & Mary Jane West of Pennsylvania.

Memorial donations are suggested to American Lung Association or Caritas Family Solutions.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, and from 9:00 – 9:45 am, Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon.

Yesterday's Kids will conduct a walk-through at 9:15 am, Friday, at the church.

Funeral: Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, with Msgr. William Hitpas presiding. Burial with military honors will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh.
