Bill Munie, age 77, born October 26, 1930 in O'Fallon, Illinois, to Oscar E. Munie and Matilda (Rapp) Munie passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at Cedar Ridge Health Care in Lebanon, Illinois.

Bill was co-owner of Munie & Sons Garage in O'Fallon; he retired from O'Fallon Township High School as Director of Maintenance and was a lifetime member of St. Clare Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Council #4239, Pope Paul First Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus #1829. Mr. Munie volunteered his time working to help in the community.

Mr. Munie was a Korean War Veteran in the Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine (nee Schumacher), whom he married September 8, 1951, and who passed away January 28, 2005; his parents, Oscar and Matilda Munie, and a sister in infancy, Connie Munie.

He is survived by five children, Sharon (Len) Cuvar, of Middletown, Ohio, Marcia (Brad Warchol) Fix, Julie (Jim) Hicks, William P. Munie and Mary Munie, all of O'Fallon; 10 grandchildren, Kelly (Brad), Neil (Hilary) and Dan Cuvar, Amy, Dess and Brian Fix, Jamae Shubirg, Laura (Josh) and Adam Hicks and Ian Jentsch; three great-grandchildren, Mason Shubirg, McKenna Spilker, and Chance Cuvar, six sisters, Mary Jean Wheatley, Delores Keller, Vernell Goodman, Janet Ranek, Pat Gagne and Karen Cotter, and a brother Jim Munie. Bill was a beloved uncle, cousin, in-law and friend.

Memorial donations in honor of William Munie are requested to St. Clare Catholic Church building fund.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Sunday, August 10, 2008 at St. Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Ill.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 11, 2008 at St. Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Ill. with interment at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Illinois - Rev. James Deiters presiding.
