William Joseph Musser, Sr., "Pops" age 82, of O'Fallon, Ill., born August 2, 1936 in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Thursday evening, November 8, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Bill was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, East St. Louis, and Southern Illinois University. He worked as a purchasing agent for many years for Monsanto and later for civil service. Bill was a faithful parishioner at St. Clare Catholic Church since 1974 and a fourth degree Knight and Past Grand Knight with O'Fallon Knights of Columbus Council 4239. He was active with the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Bill was involved with many activities to support the community but nothing compared to the joy he found in spending time with his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia, nee Martin, Musser, of O'Fallon; children Kathy (Mike) Quirk of Swansea, Bill (Carol "Binky") Musser of O'Fallon, Kevin Musser of Marietta, Ga., and Mark (Angie) Musser of O'Fallon; 11 beloved grandchildren Bryan (Amanda) Quirk, Kevin Quirk, Kelly Quirk, Sarah (Eric) Piel, Alison Musser, Macaulay Musser, Savannah Musser, Riley Musser, Lexie Musser, Luke Musser, and Logan Musser; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Anna, nee Stelzer, Musser; his step-mother Midda Musser; and his brother Edward (Patsy) Musser.

for his continued care. The family is grateful to BJC Home Care Service for the care provided Bill over the past weeks.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at St. Clare Catholic Church, 1411 Cross St., Shiloh, and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the church. The Ancient Order of Hibernians will pay tribute at 6:00 p.m. The Knights of Columbus will conduct a Chalice Service at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the church with Rev. James Deiters, presiding. Please join the family for a luncheon immediately following Mass at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 402 East Highway 50, O'Fallon. After all services, cremation will take place, with burial at a later date at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
