William Paul Munie, age 47, lifelong resident of O'Fallon, born April 27, 1962, passed away unexpectedly December 15, 2009 at his home.

Bill graduated from O'Fallon Township High School in 1980, then attended Nashville Auto-Diesel College in Tennessee. As a young man, he worked at Munie & Sons Garage in O'Fallon. Bill was currently employed as a service writer at Truck Centers, Inc., in Troy, Ill.

He was a parishioner at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church and past Grand Knight of O'Fallon Knights of Columbus Council 4239. He was currently Chief Counselor of O'Fallon Columbia Squires Circle 4682. Bill was an active Knight, and considered this brotherhood to be his second family.

He was preceded in death by his parents William J. Munie and Geraldine, nee Schumacher, Munie.
He is survived by sisters Sharon (Len) Cuvar, of Middletown, Ohio, Marcia (Brad Warchol) Fix, Julie (Jim) Hicks, and Mary Munie, all of O'Fallon; nieces and nephews Kelly (Brad) Cuvar, Neil (Hilary) Cuvar and Dan Cuvar, Amy (Bob) Fix, Dess (Kelly) Fix, and Brian Fix, Jamae Shubirg, Laura (Josh) Hicks, Adam Hicks and Ian Jentsch; and great nieces and nephews, Mason Shubirg, McKenna Spilker, and Chance Cuvar. Also surviving are numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Sunday, December 20, 2009 and from 9:00 – 10:00 am, Monday, December 21, 2009 at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church. O'Fallon Knights of Columbus Council 4239 will have a Chalice service at 6:00 pm Sunday at the church.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Monday, December 21, 2009 at the church, with Rev. James Deiters presiding. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh.
