Woodrow Charles Young, "Woody," age 76, of O'Fallon, Ill., born March 12, 1942 in Murphysboro, Ill., passed away Saturday morning, September 15, 2018.

Woody grew up in Murphysboro and enlisted in the Marine Corps upon high school graduation. He was a truck driver for Hogan Trucking and later retired from Transchemical Co. He enjoyed camping, tinkering with cars, and had a great sense of humor. He had a big appetite and enjoyed BBQ-ing.

He was preceded in death by his parents Delmar and Elizabeth, nee Schoenberger, Young.

Surviving are his wife Kathleen Young, nee Reckamp; his children Ginger, Jeff, and Eric (Stephanie) Young; his stepchildren Steven Hutchinson, Theresa Hutchinson, Sheila (Dana Glusovich) Hutchinson, Tim (Laurel) Hutchinson, and Renee (James) Groves; sister Kay (Doug) Barker and brother Tom (Sharon) Young; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations are suggested to either Leukemia-Lymphoma Society or to St. Clare Catholic Church.

Visitation: The family will receive friends 4 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at St Clare Catholic Church, 1411 Cross St., Shiloh, Ill., and after 9 am, Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at the church.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at St. Clare Catholic Church, with Rev. James Deiters, presiding. Burial with military honors will follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon, Ill.
